Normz is one of Sydney’s most captivating, talented and under-rated DJ’s. With flair to drop the beat that make people move their feet, he also possess the skills to step up to any DJ battle. This young Filipino born Australian raised DJ has definitely got what it takes to heat things up.
Inspired by and introduced to the West Coast style of DJing by his cousin, DJ Gee-Lo from Quality Time Entertainment in Los Angeles, Normz started out DJing with his older brother as a hobby in his bedroom more than ten years ago. First venturing out spinning and showcasing at Sydney’s largest Under-18 events, Normz then quickly hit the Sydney club circuit at only 16 years old, where this ‘boy wonder’ took the scene by storm rocking crowds in their masses.
Normz progresses to cultivate his skills, forming a fusion in his own unique fresh style of RnB, Hip Hop, Funk, Club, Rock and even Electro. In 2006, Normz was ranked amongst the top 6 battle DJs in Australia, after representing Sydney in the National DMC World Championships.
Gaining national and international battle + club exposure, as well as numerous battle titles under his belt, Normz continues to excel as one of the most skilled and respected club turntablists Sydney has to offer, backed by being the newest edition to Australia’s most notorious DJ crew ‘Blacklabel’. Also proudly representing ‘Nextlevel Sound Squad’ alongside Sydney’s fellow elite cream of the crop DJ’s.
