In 2003 the historic Center Cinema was transformed into a multi million-dollar 'super club' the first of its kind in Canberra, with state of the art lighting, video equipment and sound system.
In Academys 8 years of operation the venue has won multiple awards including best late night entertainment venue for three years in a row. Academy has undergone multiple renovations to remain the premiere entertainment venue in Canberra.
